Take Another Drink PDF Print E-mail

The Holy Spirit is urging us to take another drink of His presence. In Acts 2 the people who were filled with the Holy Spirit looked like they were drunk. They lost their inhibitions; they seemed so overwhelmed by the Spirit of God. In Eph 5:18 we’re told not to get drunk with wine but rather to get drunk on the Holy Spirit. God wants you to be overwhelmed and almost inebriated by His presence in your life.

People need to see the difference of God in us. It should look so peculiar that some may consider us to be drunk (Acts 2:13). Drunk? Someone that is intoxicated loses his inhibitions, overcomes his fears, has no worry of what people think about him, is full of confidence and does not easily take offence.  We need to be just as radical.

Take another drink of the Holy Spirit. Someone that drinks will always go back for another drink and this keeps him drunk. We need to be drunk with Holy Spirit and keep coming back for another round.

Thank you to everyone that prayed for me while I was in Brazil. I was able to meet many phenomenal church leaders; literally leaders of churches with millions of members. I just again realised the great task we have in our hands. There are over 600 people groups that have not received the Gospel of Jesus. We can’t be luke warm. We need to be radical (as if we were drunk) and get the Gospel to the nations. We will start sending out more and more missionary teams around the world.

What awesome celebration services we had this week-end. We had just under 18000 people attend our services and just over 650 salvations. God is really bringing in the harvest. Let us continue to win our world for Jesus.

CRC-Midrand/Johannesburg is almost underway. We will finally have confirmation of its location within this week. Please join the CRC Midrand group on FaceBook:  http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=crc+midrand&init=quick

We will post all the necessary information on there! We really seek to cater for all our young professionals and business men that are in that area.

3 Fundamentals of our Christian Walk PDF Print E-mail

Over my 27 years as a Christian I have learned that there are three things that keep our walk with God alive: Firstly, knowing God is always with you, secondly, you have enough faith for it and thirdly, God’s grace is sufficient for you. These three subjects are of vital importance; if you’ve ever wanted to work on anything in your life you should work on these. Especially when you are challenged beyond what you think you can handle, it is crucial to remind yourself of these 3 facts.

In Matt 28:20 Jesus says that He will always be with us. In fact the God promises us numerous times in the Bible that “He will never leave us nor forsake us”. If you truly grasp that nothing can separate you from God and His love you will have enough courage to do anything. This understanding gives a person security. Security in the fact that even when you’re at your lowest point God is still there and He is still on your side!

God has also given each of us enough faith to do what we are called to do. When things look impossible, yet  you know God wants you to do it, remember Rom 12:3  “God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” You have been predestined to do that which you are called for. You have enough faith inside of you. It’s your faith alone that will overcome the impossible.

Finally, to realize that it is God who is the one working in your life and to find that even though everything seems out of control, God is still in control! 2 Cor 12:9 Paul wrote that God’s grace is sufficient for our every need. This means that no matter what God wants to be at work in your every situation. He has empowered you to prosper in every circumstance. He will carry you through even though you feel all is lost. God’s power is enabled and switched on in your life.

As you know, we are currently busy with the enormous building project  of Pretoria’s Auditorium. Sometimes it might seem overwhelming, but we are very excited to report that God’s favour and blessing are already evident in this Building Project! The tender for the ground works was awarded last week and they went on site on Monday, 1 March 2010. The miraculous thing about it all is that, the tender amount is less than a third of the anticipated cost for the ground works. We had several meetings with some of our Business People and it’s amazing how excited everybody is to get involved in this great vision to erect this House of God! We do however need each and every member’s involvement and contribution to establish an unstoppable force to finish what we’ve started and provide a facility where many more souls can be saved for the Kingdom of Christ. All the Glory to God for His marvelous favour and Grace! With God, we can and should make Big Plans, Dream Big Dreams, otherwise we limit what He wants to do!

Over 17 000 people attended our services this week-end. We had over 400 salvations in our celebration services. We are expanding and building towards one Church in many Locations!  However, I still want to encourage everyone to carry on inviting their friends and family to church. God still wants to do some radical things in our church. Without your dedication to “Winning the lost at any cost” we would not be seeing this revival. Let us all commit ourselves to inviting at least 5 people to church this weekend.

We will finalize a site for Midrand during the following week , which will not  only  focus on the Midrand area but it will also lean more toward the greater Johannesburg area. Please start inviting people you know to this and help us get them excited.

I lay it on the hearts of each member that you also ask God this week

  • How can I help build the Church?
  • How can I empower myself through finances?
  • How can I increase the membership of CRC?
