It is God’s grace that saved us; it’s God’s grace that keeps us saved. If we focus on not doing what is wrong; driven by the fear of doing something wrong, we will carry on doing what is wrong. The Law of Moses served as a moral guide to point us in the direction of Jesus. You do not stop sinning by telling yourself to stop. When you get saved the Holy Spirit installs a desire in you for God. This will automatically move you away from sin.
It is too often that people say, “I must first stop sinning and then I will walk in the Spirit”. Gal 5:16 states, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”. The way to conquer sin is to walk in the Spirit. Paul also asks in Gal 3:5 if we receive God’s Spirit because we keep certain rules and regulations or is it because of what Jesus has done for us? By trying to observe the law you will never be perfect enough to be called righteous. Jesus is our safety net. He has enabled us to be called righteous (Rom 5:21) despite the state of our lives.
We are so excited about the year to come. I declare that it will be the most productive and prosperous year for every CRC member. Thank you again for your commitment and hard work this year. We are building this church for our children’s children’s children. Your commitment is invaluable to this vision.
This past weekend we saw over 17000 people attend our church and over 400 people getting saved. Thank you that even though we’re at the end of the year and so much is going on and you still make a difference by inviting your world to church.
Please ensure that you plan to make time for your family over this festive season. They are the most important people in our lives.
Blessed to be a blessing, At Boshoff
